Foreman Dainius

Sometimes the strongest professional stories begin very simply — with one job offer, a first business trip, and the desire to test yourself in a new environment. That is how Dainius began his journey at Marino Projects seven years ago. Today, he works as a Foreman and contributes every day to complex projects across different sectors and countries.

His story is about growth through hands-on experience, responsibility, and a team that, over time, becomes a second home.

A first impression that stayed with him

Dainius remembers joining Marino Projects in August 2018, when the company was still operating from a small, cosy office. At the time, he was invited to work as a general labourer, but already in the first days he understood that there was much more ahead than just a regular job.

“When I arrived, I was welcomed by a friendly team, and I also received an offer to go on a business trip. That really surprised me and became my first positive impression.”

According to him, beginnings like this often become the motivation to stay for the long term. Over his seven years with the company, Dainius has worked on different projects related to both shipbuilding and the electrical sector.

What impressed him most was not only the scale of the projects, but also the constant opportunity to grow.

“What surprised me most was the opportunity to improve my knowledge, work in different countries, and gain experience across different sectors.”

This is one of the strengths of Marino Projects — employees are not limited to one task or one location. Every project becomes a new experience that expands not only professional knowledge, but also the way people look at the work itself.

The daily reality of a Foreman: real-time decisions

Today, Dainius knows very well that the role of a Foreman requires not only technical knowledge, but also the ability to react quickly in challenging situations.

“The work of a Foreman is full of challenges and responsibility. Very often, inaccuracies and solving mistakes in real time are what make the job more interesting.”

In projects, everything moves quickly, often under the direct supervision of the client or their representative. In such situations, decisions must be made not based on theory alone, but on accumulated practical experience.

“Everything is carried out under the supervision of the client or their authorised representative, so I often have to rely on my own experience when making decisions.”

From his perspective, this is where the true role of a Foreman is revealed most clearly — not only organising processes, but also staying calm in situations where there is almost no room for error.

Dainius remembers one such situation from winter projects on ships.

“In winter, ship manoeuvres must be carried out quickly, but when cold water floods the decks, you have to inform the shipyard immediately and act fast to prevent the material from freezing.”

According to him, moments like these require not only speed, but also logical thinking and experience — the kind that only comes from working on real projects.

A team that becomes a second home

Over seven years, the most important thing for Dainius has become not only the profession itself, but also the people he works with every day.

Projects involve specialists of very different ages — from young employees to highly experienced professionals. That is why successful work requires not only competence, but also the ability to act as one team.

“When working with people on projects, employee competence, responsibility, communication skills, and speed in carrying out tasks are very important.”

According to him, it is this shared approach to work that allows projects to run smoothly, even in difficult situations.

“Employees of different ages work on projects — from 20 to 65 years old — so responsibility and the ability to apply one’s knowledge for the benefit of the project are very important.”

Over time, the company itself has become much more than just a workplace for him.

“Marino Projects has become my second home, where we solve the questions that arise, organise project continuity, work as one team, and always find solutions.”

This thought captures the company culture quite accurately — projects here are not built individually, but through joint effort.

Growth that does not stop

Over seven years, Dainius has seen Marino Projects grow and strengthen across different sectors, both in Lithuania and abroad.

“Our company grows every year and expands in all sectors, both in Lithuania and abroad. We are one of the market leaders.”

According to him, this growth is felt not only in the scale of the projects, but also in the opportunities people have to improve. That is why, when asked whether he would recommend the company to other specialists, his answer is clear.

“I would always recommend Marino Projects as a friendly, stable company that provides opportunities.
